
Pazham Pori Recipe | How to Make Pazham pori thattukada style – Pazham pori is made from bananas or plantain. Plantains are slit lengthwise after peeling and is dipped into a batter made from all purpose flour, salt, turmeric powder, cardamom, (soda podi/pulimavu) and sugar. Pazham pori is served usually along with chai or tea as a snack in the evening. In kerala some restaurants pazham pori is served along with beef.
Ingredients
- 3 Nos banana (nendra pazham or ripe plantain)
- 1 Cup maida (all purpose flour)
- 1/4 Cup besan flour
- 1 Tbsp rice flour
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 Nos cardamom (crushed)
- 1 Tsp cumin seed
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/6 tsp (4 pinch) baking soda/cooking soda
- Water add as required
- Oil for deep frying
- 1 Tbsp pulimav (optional)
Instructions
- in a mixing bowl, take maida, besan flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, cardamom (crushed), cumin seed, pulimav, sugar, baking soda, water (as required), and salt to taste. mix well.
- this mix becomes to smooth and thin. keep for 2 or 3 hours.
- cut the each bananas(nendra pazham) in to 3 long slice.
- heat oil for deep frying in a pan or kadai.
- take a banana (nendra pazham) slice. Dip in the thick batter and drop in to the hot oil. Fry on both sides.
- drain it to a paper towel
